Sustainability & Responsibility
Last updated: June 2024
Sustainability is core to FIFTEEN THIRTY FORTY. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint while delivering the quality products you deserve. The fashion industry contributes significantly to environmental damage, with around 85% of textiles ending up in landfills and one in five items never being worn.
Production Information:
At FIFTEEN THIRTY FORTY, we work with on-demand suppliers to produce items only when an order is placed, minimizing textile waste from overproduction. Our printing partners utilize high-quality, eco-friendly technology that generates minimal wastewater and consumes less energy than standard industry printers.
Printing Technology and Materials:
We employ direct-to-garment (DTG) printing for many of our products like t-shirts and hoodies. This method involves spraying ink directly onto the garment, ensuring vibrant prints while using Kornit printers that significantly reduce our carbon footprint. Our inks are Oeko-Tex™ certified, vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. Any leftover ink is disposed of responsibly according to supplier guidelines.
Embroidery:
Our embroidery uses Oeko-Tex™ certified threads, ensuring safety for both adult and children's clothing. This method, known for durability, minimizes environmental waste compared to traditional printing techniques.
Eco-Friendly Product Materials:
Our eco-friendly collection includes items made from at least 70% organic or recycled materials, reflecting our commitment to sustainable practices.
Production Times:
Each product is made-on-demand upon order placement, allowing us to avoid overproduction and manage our environmental impact responsibly. This approach ensures that every item is crafted with care, both for our customers and the planet.
Product Packaging:
All apparel products from FIFTEEN THIRTY FORTY are packaged in post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic mailers. These mailers contain a minimum of 50% PCR for outer bags and 30% PCR for inner bags in multi-item shipments. PCR packaging reduces our reliance on virgin plastics, contributing to a healthier environment.
